Paige
Paige began her movement journey in dance at the age of two and discovered Pilates soon after. What started as a complement to her dance training became foundational to how she approaches movement–with an emphasis on building a resilient, lasting system. A professional dancer and seasoned movement educator, Paige has taught across studios, schools, and institutions, working with a wide range of populations from young children to older adults, and from beginners to advanced practitioners since 2009. She approaches movement as both practice and exploration, creating spaces where students can express themselves and develop a deeper connection to their bodies. Since earning her Comprehensive Pilates Certification from Balanced Pilates NYC, she has worked with clients in New York and Virginia, bringing thoughtful and creative sensibility to her teaching. Her approach integrates precision, nuance, and intuition creating a practice that is joyful and transformative. It is shaped in part by her personal experience using Pilates as a tool for injury prevention, recovery, and long-term physical health. Alongside her movement practice, Paige is a landscape architect and urban planner, holding a dual Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a double major in Environmental Policy from Fordham University/The Ailey School in New York City. Her interdisciplinary nature informs how she understands both bodies and landscapes — as adaptive ecosystems that are dynamic, responsive, and molded through environment and care. Through her holistic approach to health and wellness, she is committed to fostering vitality across scales.
Mary
Mary’s passion for fitness began in childhood with gymnastics, an experience that instilled a lifelong commitment to physical activity and health. While studying Health and Physical Education with a focus on Exercise Science at UNC Wilmington, she began teaching yoga. She later earned a graduate degree in Environmental Studies. In 2020, Mary completed a comprehensive apparatus certification through Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI Pilates). From 2023 to 2025, she pursued additional mat and reformer training, as well as a Diploma in Clinical Pilates through Breathe Education. For Mary, exercise is a source of vitality and empowerment, and she strives to share that joy with her clients. Her classes are athletic, engaging every major muscle group, promoting spinal mobility, and challenging balance and control.
Laura
Laura María Puentes Luna completed her physiotherapy studies in Colombia. She has five years of experience in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Through her professional experience, she recognized the specific needs of her patients and the importance of structurally sound movement, which motivated her to become a certified Pilates instructor. She has been working in this field for two years, consistently integrating these methods and principles into her own daily practice. She is passionate about guiding her clients to understand the true essence of movement for a functionally optimal body.
Jessica
Jessica discovered Pilates while searching for a form of movement that felt both challenging and supportive to the body. Before entering the wellness field, she spent 10 years working as a medical coder, where she saw firsthand how often movement was overlooked as an essential part of health. That experience shaped her belief that exercise is not just fitness—it is a powerful form of preventative care and long-term wellness. Jessica is certified in Mat and Reformer Pilates and has been teaching since 2021. She is currently pursuing her Comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body, deepening her understanding of the method and gaining hands-on experience as an apprentice instructor. Her training has reinforced her belief that Pilates is for every body—and that mindful movement can be both empowering and accessible. Jessica aims to create sessions that are thoughtful, encouraging, and appropriately challenging, helping clients build strength, confidence, and body awareness in a supportive environment.
Emily
Emily has been teaching group exercise for over a decade. She began her fitness journey teaching cycling for several years and then later fell in love with Pilates. She has a huge appreciation for the intentionality behind Pilates, especially at Embody, where she can give clients individualized adjustments and attention, allowing them to have a clear understanding of movements they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. When not at the studio, you can often find her traveling for business for her 9-5 or for pleasure, playing tennis, or enjoying a patio hang with her boyfriend Thomas and their dog Rizzo.
Anita
Anita is a lover of movement of all kinds. She started pilates as a client in 2016 and noticed that there weren’t many people in Pilates spaces that were her size. She later felt compelled to become an instructor. Anita hopes her classes have a sense of connection and community, will meet you where you are and help you move towards your goals. She’s also a licensed massage therapist since 2011, so she has a unique style of blending contemporary Pilates with fascia release and a deeper connection to the body.
